Say ‘Yes’ to Advocacy

Are you on the table or at the table?  Are you and your board engaged in public policy impacting your mission?  Why should you even care? When is it OK to lobby for your cause?  Broc Rosser, Executive Director of the Florida Nonprofit Alliance (FNA), will answer these questions and dispel myths commonly heard about nonprofits and lobbying.

If you aren’t participating in public policy and advocacy, now is the time to become engaged and provide your board with meaningful involvement opportunities.  Many fundraisers and CEO’s think of advocacy and lobbying as something that is off limits . . . but it is not!  This special program is aimed at fundraising professionals, CEO’s and Executive Directors.  Join us to learn how easy it is for you to advocate.  Hear concrete, effective steps to advance your mission.  

FNA represents the nonprofit sector and is our collective voice in Tallahassee, and even on Federal issues.  As a statewide coalition of nonprofits, FNA has been active in issues such as the proposed cap on nonprofit CEO salaries, clawback bill, and the Solicitation of Contributions Act.  They provide a strong nonprofit voice at the state and national levels, educating elected officials and other constituents, and serve as a central resource and referral center complete with sector data, public policy updates, advocacy tools, and resources.
