Fundraising Ethics: Are You Playing a Game of Jeopardy With Your Organization's Reputation?

Of course, you consider yourself an ethical person and one who would certainly never compromise your organization, but what about other people and situations we encounter in our fundraising work?  How well can you identify and manage ethical dilemmas, especially those "gray zones" where a clear response is not easily apparent?  This month's meeting will feature an informative and interactive program -- we will be playing a game of Jeopardy! -- which will help you recognize and resolve ethical issues that can arise at any time.

Learning objectives:

• Review the elements of the AFP Code of Ethical Standards.

• Discuss a framework for recognizing and resolving ethical issues.

Our presenters are Debbie Swink, Major Gifts Officer at Stetson University College of Law; and Susan Lane, Development Officer at Stetson University College of Law.  Both of these women have extensive experience in fundraising in various organizations.  Their bios can be found on the college's website at:  https://www.stetson.edu/law/alumni/home/staff.php.
