Why For-Profit Businesses Create Nonprofit Entities
A Conversation with Helen Barrott, Executive Director of the Fifth C Foundation
Since the International Diamond Center (IDC) opened its doors 30 years ago, it has always the ambition of Keith and Peggy Leclerc to impact the community far beyond the diamond business. Helen Barrott was instrumental in bringing this dream to life for the Leclerc family through the establishment of The Fifth C Foundation. She now serves as Executive Director of The Fifth C Foundation, the charitable arm of IDC. Today, IDC gives back to all of the communities surrounding IDC’s stores consistently and authentically through the work of the Foundation.
Join us for an honest conversation with Ms. Barrott as we explore the intersection between for-profit and nonprofit organizations. We will dig deep into the motivations, advantages, and challenges of family foundations as well as how best to approach these generous organizations.
