CRMs: The Good, The Bad, and The Transitions

June 18, 2024

Nearly half of AFP members responding to a recent survey indicated they are considering switching to a new CRM system. Join this session as we hear from our own chapter members about their experiences with their CRM system. Learn when it is best to make the transition to a new system. What questions to ask when shopping for new platforms. How to prepare for a transition to a new CRM. How long the transition should take. And pitfalls to watch out for in the search and transition process.

Speaker Bios

Alissa VanDeman - Alissa has worked in the nonprofit world as a fundraiser for over a decade and worked in a number of different databases managing prospects and donor relationships through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to meet fundraising goals.

The majority of this time was spent at the University of South Florida fundraising for public media stations WUSF and Classical WSMR. It included keeping donor records up to date in different fundraising management systems: Allegiance, Banner and Ellucian Advance. Currently, WUSF is considering a database conversion, going through the process of cleaning up current data and selecting a new one.
